Our Researcher Awarded NCN Miniatura Grant

We are pleased to announce that Justyna Topa, a researcher in our team, has received the Miniatura grant from the National Science Centre (NCN). The awarded funding amounting to nearly 50,000 PLN, will support her project titled “The characterization of interferon-γ-induced cumulative transcriptional memory.”

Justyna Topa, ICCVS

The project investigates the phenomenon of transcriptional (TXN) memory, in which cells retain information about prior exposure to cytokines such as interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and mount an enhanced response upon subsequent stimulation. A deeper understanding of this mechanism may offer valuable insights into cancer immunology and contribute to the development of more effective immunotherapies.

Justyna conducts her research within the Immune Memory and Cell Reprogramming Group, led by Dr hab. Wojciech Siwek. The group’s main research areas include gene control, epigenetics, chromatin biology, and structural biology, with focus on understanding how cells store and interpret regulatory signals.

We congratulate Justyna on this achievement and look forward to the outcomes of her research!
