Anna Clunes, British Ambassador to Poland, visits ICCVS

The visit of Anna Clunes, British Ambassador to Poland, at ICCVS took place on 30 September 2023. Professor Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska, ICCVS Director, hosted the meeting and the Ms Alina Swebocka, Director of the Foreign Languages Centre and Professor Mirosław Przylipiak, Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Languages welcomed the Ambassador on behalf of their units.

Professor Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska presented the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Science and the International Research Agendas funding programme that formed the basis for the establishing of the Centre in cooperation with The University of Edinburgh in 2017. She explained the research focus of ICCVS being the development of therapeutical cancer vaccines and what has been achieved in ICCVS to contribute to this ambitious goal.

Anna Clunes stressed the most important features of the scientists’ work: innovation and teamwork. She also emphasized the opportunities for future collaborations for ICCVS and UK researchers deriving from UK’s rejoining the EU research funding programme Horizon Europe that was recently announced by the UK government.

Guests had the opportunity to experience  a laboratory tour at ICCVS, were shown the Centre’s laboratory research equipment and the research group leaders explained the details of the research work.
