The guest of ICCVS was Natalia Sowa-Rogozińska who delivered a talk entitled: “Exploring the potential of chicken eggs: Innovative approaches to infections reduction.” Natalia has been working since 2020 in the Salmonella Center, IMMUNOLAB Ltd. as a junior specialist in the Department of Research and Development and as the head of the Department of Genetic Engineering.

Season 1 Episode 3: prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn, Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk -“Novel Approach for Treatment of  Neurodegenerative Diseases, Based on Genistein-mediated Stimulation of Autophagy.”, 4 December 2023, host: dr Wojciech Siwek

Grzegorz Wegrzyn deliver a talk entitled: “NOVEL APPROACH FOR TREATMENT OF NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES, BASED ON GENISTEIN-MEDIATED STIMULATION OF AUTOPHAGY”. Grzegorz Węgrzyn is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biology, UG. He is an expert in molecular biology, genetics and microbiology. Aside from research, Grzegorz has been serving multiple leadership roles e.g., the head of the Scientific Excellence Council of Poland.

Season 1 Episode 2: prof. Matthias Bochtler, International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology, Warsaw  -“Biochemistry of Cell Fate Maintenance and Change”, 13 November 2023, host: dr Wojciech Siwek

ICCVS hosted Professor Matthias Bochtler who delivered a great presentation about “Biochemistry of Cell Fate Maintenance and Change”. This time, our guest was presenting a talk at the Gdansk Medical University (GUMed). He was the second guest in this series of the first edition called “Science, Biotech, and Beyond”. The presentation focused on epigenetic memory, both positive and negative, and attracted the interest of scientists from ICCVS, GUMed, and Gdansk University of Technology. After the talk, there was time to exchange scientific ideas with the professor and ask questions about the details of the presentation, both during the public discussion and coffee time.

   
   

Season 1 Episode 1: Beata Gromadzka, CEO NaNoExpo, SkyWay Biolab –  “Cooperate or not cooperate, that is the question”, 9 October 2023 – host: dr Artur Piróg

An exciting meeting with Beata – a scientist and entrepreneur in one person. The meeting gave plenty of opportunity for an useful insight into collaborations linking the academic and non-academic scientific interests.
