ICCVS at Pomorska Noc Naukowców 2026 (Pomeranian Researchers’ Night)

ICCVS joined this year’s Pomorskie Researchers’ Night, being part of the European Researchers’ Night initiative, bringing our research closer to young people, families and everyone curious about #science. We were delighted to see so many visitors, especially young people, showing genuine interest in the scientific topics that are closely connected to our everyday lives and future.

One of the highlights was the discussion “The Mobility Trend. Science Without Borders”, where dr hab. Wojciech Siwek was involved, sharing his experience of international scientific mobility and answering questions about research careers. His own experience includes the MSCA grant IMMUNE-GENEMEMO under MSCA Global Fellowship, which enabled him to conduct research at Harvard University and at ICCVS during the return phase.

The following day, our team met visitors at the #ICCVS stand in the Science Zone at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk.

Our experts, Anna Krajewska and Dr Marta Borecka introduced visitors to the research carried out at ICCVS, talked about cancerimmunology and modern celltherapies, and shared the science behind our work. A particular focus was our flagship SWIFTproject (Science for Welfare, Innovations and Forceful Therapies), which aims to develop a personalised cell therapy for non-small cell lung cancer and take the approach towards the clinical trial stage. It is funded under the International Research Agenda programme (IRAP) of the @Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) financed by the European Funds for a Smart Economy 2021-2027 (FENG), Priority FENG.02 Innovation-friendly environment.

We were also happy to have our PhD students Mateusz Modzelewski and Sayani Baneryee join the event, helping show visitors what research in the life sciences looks like from the perspective of the next generation of scientists.

For us, events like this are an opportunity not only to present our research, but also to talk about the people behind it – how scientific careers develop, how ideas move from the laboratory towards new therapies, and why curiosity remains at the heart of research.

Thank you to visitors and organizers!🧬
