New PhD awarded at ICCVS

ICCVS PhD student Ines Papak has been awarded a doctoral degree. On 6 November 2025, she publicly defended her thesis entitled “Investigating Natural Killer Cell Cytotoxicity Against Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Cell Subsets”, earning a PhD in Medical and Health Sciences, in the discipline of Medical Sciences. 

The research was conducted at the ICCVS under the supervision of Prof. dr hab. Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska, Director of the ICCVS. Dr Małgorzata Kurkowiak from the Faculty of Biology at the University of Gdańsk had the co-supervisor role.  

The reviewers of the dissertation were Prof. dr Jadwiga Jabłońska (Head of Translational Oncology at the Department of Otolaryngology, University Hospital Essen), Dr hab. Elżbieta Sarnowska prof. of the Institute (Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology), and Dr hab. Anita Stanjek-Cichoracka (Medical University of Silesia). 

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr Ines Papak on the successful completion of her PhD. The ICCVS team wishes her continued success and inspiration in her future scientific endeavours. Her achievements contribute to strengthening the research excellence and intellectual potential of our Centre.
