Our guest speaker was dr hab. Andrea Lipińska, Vice-Dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk. She delivered a lecture entitled “A small viral thief and a cellular VIP protein: how viruses hijack cellular pathways for immune subversion.”

Dr hab. Andrea Lipińska is a virologist at the Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology. She holds a PhD in biochemistry and a D.Sc. in biotechnology. Her research focuses on virus–host interactions. She is also a member of the Board of the Polish Virology Society.

The seminar was followed by an informal discussion over coffee and pastries, providing an opportunity for further scientific exchange and networking among participants.
